Photographs can be a wonderful way of capturing memories. Many of us have our own cameras and take hundreds of photos every year, however if we really want to become great photographer then this will take practicing as well as time. Taking quality photographs requires a technique that will be acquired over time. There is a quick guide to improve your photography technique and improving your photographs.

When taking photographs and it’s important to bear in mind the light you’re using. Natural sunlight is one of the best ways to take great shots. This will allow for photographs with fine detail as well as a vibrant colors. However, you should also realize that extreme sunlight can cause strong shadows as well as overly-bright surfaces, so try not to take photographs when the sun is directly overhead.

If you are unable to benefit from a good amount of natural sunlight, then you can also use the flash to create great effects in your photographs. However, it is important that you learn how to use flash correctly. When you use the flash too near your photos may turn out too bright, and when you use it too far away photographs may not show up correctly. So practice using the flash from the right range, which is about three meters away from the object you are photographing.

Red eyes are a feature commonly seen in casual photographs, however if you want to take quality pictures then you should definitely avoid this one. Reducing redeye is not a hard, just try to take photos in the outdoors all in the a well lit area. If you ask the subject to look away from the lens it should also reduce the chance of redeye.

If you want to make a bigger impact in your photographs then simply change the camera angle. The photo may be improved tremendously just by changing a the angle so move your camera around to see how the composition can be changed. One more technique you should remember and that can enhance our ordinary photographs is to include straight or curved lines within a frame. If there are any lines in the composition these will naturally draw the eye towards the centre of interest. In general, when you are taking photographs you should always remember the rule of thirds. Don’t just have your subject in the centre for every single shot you take. Use the rule of thirds to your advantage and make each photograph you take more interesting.

Last, but not least, many professional photographers choose to use the golden hours of the day, sunrise and sunset, in which to take their best photographs. These are the perfect hours for capturing the light and warmth in the images, creating beautiful works of art. Just try some of these techniques are either at the golden hours or at any time you would like, and you should be able to take some amazing photos even on a standard digital camera. Keep practicing and you should improve over time.

Every photographer works from behind the camera lens, but that’s where the similarities end. Depending on your focus and your interests, the context of your photography job can take you any number of places, working with any number of subjects.

Portrait Photography – if arrangement and pre-established poses are your forte, then portrait photography might just be the career for you. Many photography students choose this path for its relative stability because there is never a shortage of clients searching for family portraits, class photos, or even more eccentric specialties such as pet photography. Some hire themselves out to large, established portrait studios with impressive client lists and a long reach. Others open their own businesses straight out of school and work as one-man or one-woman teams. Portrait photographers can either choose to take their equipment to each job site or ask clients to come into a studio.

Wedding Photography – wedding photographers find a happy balance between static photography and the more dynamic, spontaneous sort. As a wedding photographer, you’ll be taking plenty of posed shots just like a typical portrait photographer, but most couples also request your service during the ceremony. You’ll be expected to record events as they happen-it’s your job to commemorate the little things as well.

Freelance Photography – these photographers establish their careers on a job-by-job basis. You might be snapping shots of a crime scene or a riot for the local newspaper one day, and taking a drive to shoot mountaintop scenery the next. Each individual job will define precisely what you do as a contract photographer, though most who end up in this field eventually concentrate their efforts around one specialty. It can be a great way to explore a multitude of photography styles and opportunities while still getting paid.

Fine Art Photography – arguably the most difficult area to break into for a budding photographer, it can be a tough task to get your name out there. You’ll need drive, energy, ability, and a good deal of luck to start down this path. Once you establish a reputation, however, this career can be one of the most fulfilling as you make your living by following your artistic impulses.

Even in the midst of this financial crisis, there are options aplenty for those holding an art degree. Don’t let stereotypes scare you away-with degrees in fields such as photography, graphic design, and fashion merchandising, there really is an incredible amount of versatility that opens up an impressive number of options. If you have further questions about how to get these valuable degrees, just take a look around at Find Your Art School’s offerings.

I have to admit that in digital photography I personally have been a laggard. I have two traditional film cameras – a vintage manual focus Nikon and a Canon Rebel, which is a newer model equipped with auto focus. Up until recently, I’ve been heroically resisting the temptation of trying a digital camera, although each of my kids has had one for years now. But a few days ago, my father gave me one of his – a mid-priced Olympus – because he didn’t like the menus. I’ve decided to give it a try and I was surprised I actually like it.

I take a lot of pictures so obviously the first thing I loved about it is that it had no film. I also got two large memory cards from my father along with the camera and I never run out of film. I no longer have to pay for developing photos that I don’t even like. Actually, I don’t develop photos at all. And now that I’m able to see them on the spot, I can delete the ones that turn out wrong and free up space for new ones. I take hundreds of pictures and this helps me improve my technique and get better results. I can still keep the things I liked about traditional photography as my camera lets me select film speed and worry about shutter speed/aperture combinations. This means that I can still use my photographic skills, which is a very good thing. I also love that I don’t have to wait for days to see how the pictures turned out like.

Another thing I love about digital photos is the fact that you can edit them later. I haven’t purchased Photoshop yet, though I plan to buy the Elements program soon. For now I just use Picasa, which is free, and my PhotoDeluxe application which came with the scanner. Even with these basic programs I can still change the photos to a great extent. I sometimes have problems with the exposure because I don’t always notice backlighting. Luckily, poor exposure can be easily corrected afterwards, and the same thing you can do with red eyes or excessive tint.

You can also adjust contrast, sharpen focus and warm up colors. Cropping is another tool I use very often. It helps me remove parts of the background or excess sky. I can even transform a landscape photo into a close-up if I remove a large part of it. You also have a lot of special effects. You can transform your photo into an oil painting, add filters, neon, glow – just set your imagination free.

When I’m all set, I can send those photos I really like to a processing service. With Picasa you have an option to send your photos to a processor over the Internet and you will get the printed photos into your mail. Or you can upload the pictures to a website, use them in a blog or email them to your friends. Having so much control over your photos is just great. If you haven’t already switched to digital photography, you should think about it. It is a real blessing.

Professional photographers can often feel like they are operating their business on their own with few resources to help propel their business to the next level. However, professional photographer supplies are easy to find if you look in the right places. You may be asking yourself, “How do I find high quality professional photographer supplies at the right price to meet the needs of my business?” The answer is simple. By relying on the resources below, you will be well on your way to finding professional photographer supplies online.

There are numerous resources available online that cater to professional photographers. Whether you are looking for professional photography sample wedding albums, inexpensive/cheap wedding albums that can be re-sold to your clients at a higher price to optimize your profits, or simply need professional photographer supplies, the Internet is a great resource. The first, and perhaps the most popular way to find professional photographer supplies is by conducting searches via Google, Yahoo, or MSN. This method opens up a wide range of companies that operate in areas other than what you may normally be exposed to due to geographical limitations. For example, by searching the Internet using popular keyword phrases that best depict your what you’re looking for (i.e., “discounted wedding albums”) or more specific items (”flush mount professional photographer wedding albums” or “designer wedding photo albums”) will yield a host of valuable sites that will help you locate the right professional photographer supplies online.

If this technique doesn’t provide exactly what you’re looking for, features such as Google Suggest and Yahoo! Search Assist provide suggested search terms if you hesitate while typing in a search phrase. These results may provide additional information or popular phrase combinations that will help you find the right photographer supplies online to meet the needs of your business.

Another popular way to locate professional photographer supplies is by utilizing local search engines and directories such as YellowPagesOnline.com or SuperPages.com. The Internet is constantly evolving, and businesses have begun capitalizing on these trends to stay ahead of their competition. With this evolution has come “local search,” which is the equivalent of a “yellow pages” directory advertisement on the Internet. However, Local Search has become increasingly important as the traditional yellow pages have lost ground and people are relying more and more on the Internet to solve their problems, questions, and inquiries. This is why utilizing local search engines to find professional photographer supplies and wedding photo albums online is more effective than simply looking up photographer equipment or supplies in the phone book.

Additionally, Local Search takes advantage of a specialized form of search engine advertising that allows you to search online for specific keyword phrases such as “contemporary wedding photo albums” based on geographical constraints. No longer are you limited to “what” they are looking for, i.e., keywords, business category, or the name of the product/service, but local search engines give you access to search based only on a specific geographical area, i.e., address, city, zip code, business name, or even geographical coordinates like longitude and latitude. Although it is not imperative for professional photographers to find things in their geographical locations, since many of the products can be easily shipped, it is still helpful as a search mechanism because proximity can sometimes allow you to obtain the photography supplies at a faster rate.

The third way to find albums for professional photographers online is by searching Web sites or companies by name that offer supplies for professional photographers. Often certain companies stick out in our minds based on advertisements we may have seen or heard, or even a referral that has been made. However, we often don’t have ready access to the photography suppliers contact information. Simply by remembering the name, or even a partial name, of the company and searching for that online can connect us with the professional photography supplier.

The fourth way to find a professional photographer supplies or wedding album manufacturers is by searching wedding or photography blogs. This is a beneficial way to find information, news, or commentary on subjects of any matter. Since this method enables people to post comments in an interactive manner, you can often find information based on others have experienced with a particular photographer supply company or wedding album manufacturer. This can provide you with insight as to the selection, customer service, and quality of custom wedding photo albums or photographer supply company offers.

The final way to find professional photographer supplies and wedding photo albums online is by searching social bookmarking sites such as http://del.icio.us. Similar to blogs, in that people are providing their insight, social bookmarking sites allow people to store, organize, share, and search bookmarks of web pages. What is “bookmarked” by other users frequently may provide insight into what is perceived as valuable and is yet another resource to finding the right wedding albums and photographer suppliers online.

Finding a high-quality, inexpensive wedding albums as well as hard to find professional photographer supplies does not have to be difficult. By following the recommendations above, you will be well on your way to finding the items to make your professional photography business propel to the next level.

Glamour Photography and/or similar exotic female photography versus various types of art photos, nude photos, and other representations of the female form, would not appear to have especially subtle differences. However, many individuals are attached to our puritanical background in a way that totally disallows any look at the female form as artistic expression. Moreover, semantic differences these days cloud the distinctions even more than ever before, particularly concerning the words exotic, erotic and glamour which seems to currently be misunderstood much more often than not.

Glamour Photography is the art of capturing the glamorous appeal of a model or subject during a photo shoot for the specific purpose of recognizing glamour. Glamour photography would also include the photographs which come from such a photo shoot. The term Glamour photography by itself is relatively straightforward. Confusion and misinterpretation follow words like exotic and erotic when they are used to describe Glamour photography.

Exotic Photography should be simple enough. It should be photography containing exotic people or animals or even cars and/or photos taken in exotic locals. However, due primarily to adult internet venues continually misusing the term exotic, it now carries a strong suggestion of sexual activity or nudity inherent within the word whenever it is applied to photos of women.

Merriam-Webster defines eroticism: the arousal of or the attempt to arouse sexual feeling by means of suggestion, symbolism, or allusion (as in an art form). So when the scantily clad model looks directly into the camera with her strongest come hither look, your libido stirs quite perceptively and you feel a very strong urge to go thither, or follow her anywhere, as it were. The body language, the sexy outfit, the come hither look combine to create the suggestion necessary that says she wants you. The look can be very suggestive even without nudity or the presence of a male in the photo. Again, however the word erotic has been so overused in internet adult sites, as to no longer be recognized as anything short of sexual content. When a word is so often misused that it is understood to have a new meaning it takes on that meaning as well. Erotic does not have the other uses that exotic has. It is defined as suggesting the sexual but now more commonly used as a synonym for the term sexual. A, a Kerry

Alternately we have all heard it said that beauty is in the eye of the beholder, however, sometimes beauty is so much in the eye of the beholder that it even shocks the beholdee. We’ve all seen various vigorous disagreements concerning the beauty of this or that person all the way to the point that sometimes we just can’t believe the two people are looking at the same third person. And while there can be some fairly basic agreements on what is beautiful and what is not, even these can go out the window in certain instances. I’m not talking here about the case of the girl who didn’t look appealing at all at nine o’clock but after a six pack of beer at midnight, she looked pretty good. I’m saying that it’s more than possible two people are looking at the exact same other person in the same light and with the same background and while they do not necessarily see two different things they most certainly do not appreciate the things that they do see similarly at all. So in this way, what may seem erotic to one person may seem promiscuous or even just strange to another.

Similarly a photographer, who has a little magician in him, can create beauty in the eye of the beholder by capturing the essence of that, come hither look and conveying it with the correct mixture of sexiness, body language and expression to get the point across without overdoing it. The smile on Mona Lisa’s face, notwithstanding, there is no question that the right photographer and model can also convey a particular image with such depth of feeling as to completely dispel any other interpretation of the photos than the one the photographer has intended. Even though it may happen rarely, and some may dispute whether it derives more from the photographer or the model, it is much easier to recognize than to produce. So it is very possible, to create a photograph without nudity, or any kind of sexual content, which is still quite erotic, but just don?t call it that unless someone is looking at the photo, otherwise it will likely be misinterpreted.

Here is a list of ten tips to better photography for both the amateur and professional photographer.#1: Remember the batteries and make sure they are charged. Good words are never said when you compose your shot click the shutter release and your camera dies.

There are two main types of batteries non-rechargeable, and rechargeable. Non rechargeable batteries are cheaper by the unit but they quickly get costly as your camera chews through them. Rechargeable batteries are a bit more expensive than non rechargeable batteries but in the long run they are much cheaper and often come with a suitable charger.

If you chose to go with non rechargeable batteries then you have two main choices of brands energizer, and Duracell.

2#. Protect your lenses through proper care. Your lenses cap is one of the most important pieces of equipment in your camera bag. The little string that holds the lenses camera to the lenses when not in use is well worth the couple of dollars if your camera doesn’t come with one. Also if our lenses will accept filter then it is wise to buy a UV or ultra violet filter to protect your lenses surface from scratches and dirt. The UV filter is basically a piece of clear glass that screws in like any other filter.

3# Use your tripod for short exposures: its amazing how much camera shake presents its self after the shot has been taken. The more you zoom the more you are going to magnify the camera shake so its especially important when you are working with a telephoto lens.

Depending on the weight of the camera and your se depends on the features and sturdiness of the tripod. The difference between shooting with a large camera in a studio setting, or taking your camera on a four day hike may require two totally different types of tripods. Generally when I am hiking I like to use an inexpensive $30 tripod, because it is light enough to strap onto my backpack without a noticeable increase in weight, but yet it is sturdy enough for long exposures.

On the other hand a more expensive tripod from a reputable dealer can be more sturdier, but at a much higher cost. Personally I stand by the $30 tripod I bought at a department store, its been dragged through three feet of snow, carried up mountains and even thrown in the bed of my late Chevy. Its your choice and only you can weigh out the pros and cons of both.

If for what ever reason you chose not to go with a tripod but still need the extra stabilization than you might be interested in purchasing a monopod. A monopod is like a one legged tripod. On a good note the monopod is lighter than a fell fledged tripod, but on the other side it does not offer the same level of support like a tripod. From my personal experience I find that monopods are not useful enough to warrant carrying with me but again its all up to you.

I hope this article was helpful to you and my tips give you ways to improve your photography. Now get out there and shoot some photographs.

Taking a good photo isn’t as hard as you may think. You don’t need the most expensive camera or years of experience, just 10 simple tips.

Enjoy!

Tip 1 – Use All Your Available Space
Don’t be afraid to use all the space in your photo. If you want to take a picture of something, it’s ok for it to take up the whole shot with no or very little background showing. Keep distractions out of your shot

Tip 2 – Study Forms
This is a vital aspect to photography. Understanding forms in your photos. Don’t see an object, she its shape and its form and find the best angle to photograph it from. Form is all around us and I highly suggest you read as many books on it as possible.

Tip 3 – Motion In Your Photos
Never have motion in your photos if you are photographing a still object. If there is something moving while you are trying to photograph a stationery object, your photo won’t turn out anywhere near as well. Also never put a horizon line in the center of your frame.

Tip 4 – Learn To Use Contrasts Between Colors.
Some of the best photos have shades of white, gray and black. You can take great shots with just one color on your subject, but the contrasts between colors in a shot is what makes you a great photographer.

Tip 5 – Get Closer To Your Subject
This is one of the biggest mistakes most photographers make, not getting close enough to their subject. Get up and personal and close the distance gap. You can always reshape and resize a good shot but you can’t continue to blowup a distant object.

Tip 6 – Shutter Lag
Shooting action shots with digital camera’s can be tricky due to shutter lags. What this means is, when you press the button to take the photo, it can take up to a second for the shutter to take a photo, by that time what you were photographing would have moved or changed somehow. This means you have to compensate for shutter lag by predicting what your subject is going to do and taking the photo just before it takes the action you want. More expensive digital cameras don’t have this problem.

Tip 7 – Pan
If you are taking an action shot and your shutter speed is slow, pan with the object. Follow through with the subject, from start to finish and one of those shots will be a winner. You have more chance of getting a good shot if you take more then one photo.

Tip 8 – Continuous Shots
To pan like I suggested above you will need a camera that does continuous shots and doesn’t need to stop and process after every shot.

Tip 9 – How To Take Fantastic Night Time Shots
Night time shots can be spectacular, almost magical…. if done right! If not they can look horrible. Really horrible. Without adequate lighting, even good camera’s can turn out crappy photos if the photographer doesn’t know what he or she is doing.

Tip 10 – Study Your Manual
If your digital camera has a special night time mode, read the manual and follow their instructions on how to use it properly.

For example many people only use the flash when it’s dark, but actually using it in daylight can also help to remove shadows in your photo. 6ibfwdyjta
